Blood Alcohol Concentration Short-Term effects
66Vodka
Here is some good information on the short term effects of drinking and what happens to a person as their blood alcohol concentration rises.
BAC Concentrations, Behavioral Effects, Hours to Metabolize Alcohol
0.00 - 0.05, Slight change in feeling, relaxation euphoria. 2-3 Hours
0.05 - 0.10, Impairment of reaction time, exaggerated feelings and have reduced social inhibitions. Legally drunk at .08 in all states. 4-6 Hours
0.10 - 0.15, Unsteadiness in standing and loss of peripheral vision. Driving becomes extremely dangerous! 6-10 Hours
0.15 - 0.30, Staggering, slurred speech and other senses greatly impaired at this point. 10-24 Hours
More than 0.30, Unconsciousness occurs, and at 0.35 or above death can occur. More than 24 hours to metabolize.
This is a normal reaction to drinking and general effects alcohol can have on you at each level of intoxication. The only way the body metabolizes/absorbs alcohol is time. The process cannot be accelerated. I hope you found this information interesting and if you have anything to add feel free to leave comments!
